The U.are.U ¡°Dragonfly¡± is the latest of a new generation small area, high-value fingerprint biometric module. This optical sweep-style reader is ideal for OEM integration into point-of-sale terminals, computer peripherals and mobile computing devices.

To use U.are.U ¡°Dragonfly¡±  the user simply glides a finger over the glowing blue surface where miniature optics read the fingerprint image. The glowing line enables easy finger alignment resulting in improved usability. Optical technology gives the highest quality fingerprint image while also providing the utmost in durability.

In a peripheral, the U.are.U ¡°Dragonfly¡± control IC can translate serial PS/2 commands from an external mouse or keyboard controller into USB HID commands. This results in a composite USB device without the need for a USB hub.

This durable optical module is sealed from water and dust and includes convenient mounting features. DigitalPersona firmware controls all aspects of the fingerprint capture including calibration, speed compensation and data transfer over the USB connection. This device works seamlessly with DigitalPersona high-accuracy, award winning fingerprint verification software, software development kits and enterprise identity management solutions.

The U.are.U ¡°Dragonfly¡± is also available as discrete components for surface mounting on customer specific PCBs.
